In short
StudyPlace is an app for studying with a window view from somewhere in the world playing.
Five window seats cost nothing; the rest open with a subscription. There is no sign-up.
The views and sounds are ours to provide, and some of them were made with AI. Those screens say so.
What these terms do
These terms are the agreement for using StudyPlace (the "app"). Using the app means you accept them.
If you do not accept them, delete the app. There are no accounts, so there is nothing to close — deleting is the whole of it.
Price
Five window seats are open at no cost. Seoul, London, Sapporo, Fuvahmulah, and Kyoto need no account and no payment details.
The remaining seats and some of the sounds open with a subscription.
- Monthly — KRW 5,900 per month · 7-day free trial
- Yearly — KRW 29,900 per year · 7-day free trial
- Lifetime — KRW 49,000, paid once. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel
Subscriptions renew automatically. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, the next period starts automatically and your Apple Account is charged within 24 hours of the period ending.
You can cancel at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. After cancelling you keep access until the period you already paid for runs out.
Cancel during the free trial and you are not charged. Note that starting a subscription while trial days remain forfeits the rest of the trial — that is how Apple handles it.
Payment and refunds go entirely through Apple. We never receive or see your card number. Refunds follow Apple's policy and must be requested from Apple.
If the price goes up we will tell you first, and your subscription will not renew at the new price unless you agree to it.
About what you see
The photos, video, sound, maps and text in the app belong to us or to their rightful owners. Watching and listening inside the app is yours to do freely.
Please do not do the following.
- Record the screen and distribute or sell it separately
- Extract the app's video or audio and upload it to another service
- Reverse-engineer or modify the app and redistribute it
- Send automated bulk requests that interfere with the server
Streaming or recording yourself studying is fine. Our app appearing in part of your screen is yours to use freely.
Screens made with AI
Some window views are video generated by AI from a single photograph. Those screens are marked as such in the app.
Being AI-made, they may differ from how the place looks right now. They are not travel information or a live view.
Weather and day/night follow real data (that city's time, sunrise and sunset), but they too are for reference.
"N people watching"
We show how many people are watching each window right now. Since there are no accounts this is an approximation, not an exact count, and we decide nothing on the basis of it.
How it is counted is described in the privacy policy.
What you post
There is nowhere in this app to post anything other people can see. You cannot submit text, photos, or window seats, and nothing you write appears on anyone else's screen.
The only thing you can send us from inside the app is Settings → Send feedback, and only we read it.
The service can stop
The app is provided as is. We work to keep it running, but the following can happen.
- Maintenance or outages leaving maps or weather briefly unavailable
- Some features stopping because of an outside service (maps, weather, Apple)
- Windows being added or removed
For losses arising from this service, our liability is limited to the extent the law allows. This does not exclude liability for our wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
If you subscribe: if something on our side keeps the window seats from you for a meaningful stretch of time, that stretch is on us. Tell us through feedback and we will walk you through requesting a refund from Apple.
Study records stay on your device. If you lose the device or delete the app they go with it, and we hold no copy to restore.
Age
This app is not made for children. If you are under 14, please use it with a guardian's consent.
If these terms change
When these terms change, the date at the top changes. Any change that introduces a price or disadvantages you will be announced inside the app first.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes are heard in the courts of the Republic of Korea.
This does not reduce the rights the law of your country of residence gives you as a consumer.
